Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms explain how you may use Mangala, a wedding-planning platform for Sri Lanka. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. Who we are

Mangala (“we”, “us”) is operated from Sri Lanka. You can reach us at hello@mangala.store.

The service is available at https://www.mangala.store (for couples) and https://vendor.mangala.store (the vendor portal).

2. What the service is

We offer two kinds of account:

  • Couples use Mangala to plan a wedding: guest lists and RSVPs, seating, budget, a themed wedding website that works as an invitation, and delivery of personal invitation links by WhatsApp or SMS.
  • Vendors (photographers, caterers, decorators and other wedding businesses) list their business in our directory and receive enquiries from couples through the vendor portal.

Mangala is a platform. We are not a party to any agreement between a couple and a vendor.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Give us accurate information, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

One person or business should not share an account with others unless they are planning the same wedding or run the same listing.

4. Couple plans and the free trial

When you create a wedding you get a free trial of 3 days. No card is needed. During the trial you can use the whole builder and preview your website on a temporary private link, but you cannot publish it to its real address, send invitations or export your design as PNG or PDF.

To unlock those features you buy a couple plan (Essential or Plus). A couple plan is a one-time purchase for one wedding. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. The current prices and what each plan includes are on our pricing page.

If your trial ends without a purchase, your data is kept and the planning tools (guests, seating, budget, vendors and the website builder) stay open, but publishing, sending and exporting stay locked.

Once you have bought a plan, your wedding website stays online after the wedding. We will give reasonable notice by email before we retire or materially change this.

5. Vendor subscriptions and the free trial

When you create a vendor listing you get a free trial of 30 days with full Pro access. No card is needed. After the trial your listing is hidden from the directory, your packages become read-only and new enquiries are blocked until you subscribe. Your data is kept so you can reactivate.

Vendor plans (Starter and Pro) are subscriptions, billed monthly or annually, and renew automatically until you cancel. Annual billing is priced at ten months for twelve. Limits and prices are on our pricing page.

You can cancel at any time from the billing page of the vendor portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep full access until then and are not charged again.

If a renewal payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period during which your listing stays visible. If the payment is not resolved by the end of that period, your subscription ends and your listing is hidden.

6. Prices, payment and taxes

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for these transactions. That means Dodo Payments is the seller of record at checkout, collects the payment and any applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, and Dodo’s own terms apply to the transaction in addition to these Terms. Checkout happens on a page hosted by Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card details.

Prices are set in US dollars. If you pay with a Sri Lankan card, you are charged in Sri Lankan rupees at that day’s exchange rate. Rupee amounts we show are indicative only; the amount shown on the checkout page is the amount you pay. Your bank may apply its own foreign-currency or international-transaction fees, and some Sri Lankan cards need international use enabled by the bank.

If a card payment does not work for you, you can ask to pay by bank transfer by emailing hello@mangala.store.

We may change our prices. A price change never affects a one-time purchase already made, and for vendor subscriptions it applies from your next renewal after we have told you.

7. Cancellation and refunds

Our Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of these Terms. In short: a couple plan can be refunded within 7 days if the website has not been published and no invitations have been sent; vendor subscriptions can be cancelled at any time but are not refunded pro-rata.

8. Your content and your guests’ data

You own what you upload or enter (text, photos, guest lists, packages and so on). You give us a licence to store, process and display it only as needed to run the service for you, for example to show your published website or vendor listing.

If you are a couple and you add guests’ names, phone numbers or other details, you are responsible for having the right to share them with us and to contact those guests. You should only invite people you would normally invite, and you must respect any guest who asks not to be contacted. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle this data.

Each guest’s invitation link is personal to them. Do not post personal links publicly.

9. Messages and vendor listings

Couples and vendors can message each other through the platform. Be honest, respectful and lawful. Vendors must describe their services and prices accurately.

Any booking or contract is directly between the couple and the vendor. We do not guarantee any vendor’s services, availability, quality or prices, and we are not responsible for what a vendor or couple does or fails to do.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law, or use the service to harass, defraud, spam or threaten anyone;
  • upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit;
  • send invitations or messages to people who have not agreed to be contacted, or send unsolicited bulk messages;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or interfere with or overload the service;
  • copy, scrape or resell the service or the vendor directory.

11. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service available but do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, we will tell you and, where appropriate, offer a fair remedy.

12. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and can ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@mangala.store.

We may suspend or close an account, or remove content or a listing, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect other users. Where reasonable we will tell you why first.

13. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost bookings, or loss caused by third-party services such as WhatsApp, SMS carriers, payment providers or your internet connection.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If we make a material change we will notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

The courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute, although nothing here removes any consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
